FAQs about our Summer Group Counseling

What is group counseling or group therapy?

Group therapy is a process of understanding more about yourself and others in a safe environment. These sessions will be led by licensed counselors who specialize in working with children and teens. This will be an excellent opportunity for your child to grow and build their skills in a supportive environment while also practicing social navigation with their peers.

How long are the group counseling sessions?

Each session lasts approximately 50–60 minutes and will be held on a weekly basis. Groups will last 4 weeks. We ask group members to commit to attending for the full duration of the summer group.

What ages can participate?

Groups will be divided by age and developmental needs, serving children and teens ages 4–17 along with groups for adults.

What is the cost of group counseling?

  • Group fees vary by offering, but typically range from $40 to $60 per session. Each group is led by a licensed counselor, and group therapy provides a more affordable alternative to individual sessions.

  • At this time, we are not able to accept insurance for group counseling.

  • Because group space is limited and each spot is held specifically for you or your child, full payment is required by the first session to secure participation. Missed sessions are not refundable, and weekly fees will still apply regardless of attendance.

What will my child be doing and learning?

Please click on the links above for more information about each group. Our elementary-age groups will focus on play-based and creative learning, while teen groups will use an activity-based approach through art, games, and interactive experiences. All groups are supportive, inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming.

How do I sign my child or myself up for a group?

Please complete the form below. After we receive your information, our office will contact you to make sure the group is a good fit and to schedule an intake session with the therapist. We will also send you consent forms to complete before the parent intake session. During the intake session, we will go over the consent forms and discuss your child's needs.
